How it works
The laser delivers controlled pulses of light that are absorbed by the pigment in the hair. That energy turns to heat in the follicle and disrupts its ability to grow new hair, while the surrounding skin is left alone.
Hair grows in cycles and the laser only affects hairs in their active phase, so a course of sessions a few weeks apart is needed. With each session, regrowth is typically finer, lighter and slower.
Am I suitable?
The laser targets pigment, so hair colour matters more than anything else. Your patch test gives you a straight answer.
Black and dark brown hair holds the most pigment, so it responds best to laser.

Sessions are typically 4 to 6 weeks apart. Each one is quick, and regrowth gets finer and slower as you go.

Laser gives long-term hair reduction. Many people see a large reduction after a full course, with an occasional top-up. Results vary from person to person, and no clinic can honestly promise permanent removal.
Yes. Shave the area the day before your patch test and each session, and avoid waxing, threading or plucking between sessions, because the laser needs the hair root to be there.
No. Avoid sun exposure, sunbeds and fake tan for at least two weeks before each session. Tanned skin raises the risk of side effects, so we will postpone rather than treat over a tan.
